A fascinating trip to Doi Tung, an area of large-scale hilltribe development projects sponsored by a royal foundation and home of the Akha tribe. A visit is also made to Mae Sai, the border town of Myanmar.
Visit the hilltribe settlement at Doi tung then continue to Mae Sai (at the border of Myanmar) for shopping. Proceed to Chiang Saen and Chiang Khong. Also visit the Hmong hilltribe and enjoy lunch at a restaurant overlooking the Mekong river. The trip ends with a 3 hours trek from Cheng Meng up Doi Chi Fa of which you will enjoy a spectacular view of the entire valley including Laos and the Mekong river..
DAILY 08:30 - late afternoon -- Depart for a long-tailed boat journey to the Karen village of Ruam Mitr to ride elephants. The terrain is hilly on the two hour trip and enjoy a spectacular view of the mountains surrounding Chiang Rai. Once accross the ridge descend to a Yao hilltribe village and proceed to a hilltribe cottage by a mountain stream. Visit other hill villages in the area and return to Chiang Rai in the late afternoon.

DAILY 08:30 - 17:00 -- Our trek begins with departure by vehicle at eight o clock arriving in the trek area by mid-morning. After visiting a tribal village on foot continue to a scenic spot for a picnic lunch. After lunch continue to other villages in the area before get on your vehicle and returning to Chiang Rai by sunset . For beginner and Intermediate trekkers. The exact area selected for trekking on any given day is subject to change.
